Prior to his four years in audio visual events, Travis worked in broadcast television, news, current affairs, film and television production for seven years. This included sporting events, documentaries, camera operating, production, audio and lighting assisting, news editing and camera directing.
He holds a Diploma of Film and Television and an Advance Diploma of Broadcast Television, both from North Metro TAFE. Whilst studying, he received technical training from highly regarded industry professionals. He has worked on events such as the AFL, Telethon Live, World Cup Cricket, World Cup Soccer games and State of Origin with NEP and many more. He studied all areas of broadcast television and left the Institute as a multi skilled camera operator and editor.
Some of Travis’s career highlights include working as the lead technician for the Wildcats sports production and Suncorp Super Netball. It was events like this where he found his love for the challenge of producing large scale, technically challenging events with a high attention to detail, which led him to Lux Events. He also has been the lighting/camera assistant on the UFC in Perth at RAC Arena just recently and lighting/camera assistant on Pink’s music video here in WA. How cool!
Recently, Trav’s career highlights included camera directing for some top world renowned tours such as John Butler, Kasey Chambers, Jackson Browne, the Blues Brothers, Jimmy Carr, Hot Dub Time Machine and Culture Club.
Trav is renowned for really quick problem solving and expert camera directing skills, which makes our large-scale events look fantastic on the big screen. He’s also a great leader with vast experience, impeccable attention to detail and professionalism. He’s especially skilled in creative live design and schematic drawing. Pair all this with his friendliness and good humour and you’ve got a very talented good bloke.
When not immersed in the world of AV, Trav loves seeing friends, gaming, photography, boating, camping, fishing, traveling, exploring the new and latest tech, when time permits of course.
